Dolan expressed that what struck him the most was Kirk’s method of communication. While Kirk was recognized for his bluntness and directness, Dolan remarked that he still exhibited respect, even when engaging in debates with opponents. “He did not shy away from controversy or confrontation, but he approached it with respect,” the cardinal observed. “Such an approach is both gracious and effective.”
